If you haven’t heard already – the 2013 Color of the Year is Emerald Green!
is a bold statement, much like it’s predecessor, bright orange. Not many of our clients decided to use orange fabric for their window treatments, and I am not sure how many will have us make Emerald Green draperies this year. However, when you look at some of the pictures below, you may change your mind. The whole room shouldn’t be drenched in the color, but it’s use with several design elements works well.
Emerald Green is perfect as an accent in any room. Green is of course the color of nature and abundantly found there. It is a very necessary color element to our lives, restoring our depleted energy, and giving back our balance and harmony. It is suggested to use green paint in rooms of our home that we relax in such as the bedroom, the living or family room and also the dinning room. We can add Emerald accessories to any room, making each space in our home more current.

Pillows are a great way to incorporate the color of the year into your existing room design, or you can change artwork, easily adding a picture with large splashes of Emerald.
Emerald Green also works well with neutrals.
Emerald Green is a combination of yellow and blue. Yellow represents mental clarity and optimism while blue speaks of calm, insight, inspiration and hope. Emerald Green has more blue pigment than other greens. The stone itself is known as “the healer’s stone”. It represents physical, emotional, and spiritual balance. Other words associated with the color are: growth, fertility, refreshing, peaceful, contentment, satisfaction, confidence, money, prosperity, hope, luck, beauty, and self-respect.
When we think of how our economic situation has been recently, and what the color green represents, it is so fitting for Emerald Green to be the color of 2013. It is a statement that we anticipate financial recovery as well as finding the balance once again in our lives. So –
