Having recently returned from a lovely Mediterranean cruise, I am very much inspired by the wonderful old world coastal cities we were lucky enough to visit. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in every building, every piece of furniture and every bite of food is simply delightful.
Let’s give you a quick look at a small town that overlooks Sorrento, Italy on the coast of the Bay of Naples – Positano.
The view just off the ship –
Here is our group hiking the trail to the top of the mountain –
The gorgeous view overlooking the town of Sorrento –
Wild herbs growing along the hiking trail –
Before descending to Positano, we stopped for lunch –
And a little shopping in the town of Positano where I found lemon printed decorator fabric everywhere –
Lemon trees grow abundantly in Italy, as do olive trees. You can see how the lemons influence the fabric design. These bright cheery fabrics would go great in any kitchen this summer, and not only for tablecloths. I can see a great valance over the kitchen sink and accent pillows in the great room tying it all together. Cannoli anyone?
Searching for lemon themed decorator fabrics in this county is not an easy task. Most of the ones we found are all cotton and used in quilting, but fun nonetheless –
