Time to grab the hat, the flip flips, and a towel and head out to the beach!

Just where I would be headed if I were staying in my seaside cottage.

And your summer seaside cottage is what our focus is for today.

Roth & Tompkins Textiles are located in East Norwalk Connecticut and have been our source for natural decorator fabrics like cotton, linen and wool for over twenty years. They have a great variety of fabric from durable woven textures to luxurious hand-painted prints and decorative plaids and stripes. Below is a sampling of some swatches we took photos of – perfectly light and bright for your summer retreat:

Natural cotton fabric is perhaps even more important in the summer when we seek soft lighter fabrics for comfort and coolness. These fabrics are woven from yard dyed natural fibers that are not harmful to the environment – no azo dyes, heavy metals, formaldehyde, or petroleum derivatives are used. You can feel comfortable and safe whether you are relaxing on the couch or leaning back on the bed letting the breeze of summer drift across your face.

Another great feature to the Roth & Tompkins Textiles line of decorator fabrics is the careful selection of new fabrics that are created each season to layer into their existing collections. They are quite aware that redecorating your home every year is not a realistic option, so each season they create a sophisticated user friendly coordinated line to enhance what you already have in your décor. Here is a look at some darker shades:

The past meets the present as they strive to provide a transitional look where traditional and modern meet. These decorator fabrics fit your seaside cottage, your mountain retreat, your traditional colonial or even your urban loft.

Check back at the change of season for some ideas for cozy fabrics for the bedroom, couch, and of course windows, to keep you snug as the cold settles back in. But not today – it’s officially summer in less than two weeks!
